          Released in 1978, the Korg MS-20 was an instant classic that would turn up in much of the synth-pop, fusion, and film music of the ’80s and ’90s. Recognizing the significance of their iconic semi-modular analog monosynth, Korg carried on the tradition in a full-sized reissue, a soft synth plug-in, and even a kit version. Now, Sweetwater is thrilled to present the full-sized, fully assembled MS-20. Available in four limited-edition colors, the MS-20 FS gives you all the synthy goodness of the FS, plus a number of enhancements serious synthesists have been clamoring for — including a highly playable, full-sized 37-note keyboard and two filter types from early- and late-model MS-20s. Meticulous reissue of a classic
Over the years, the MS-20 had endeared itself to synthesists and sound designers working in a myriad of music genres. Now, the Korg MS-20 FS (Full-Size) reproduces every feature of the original in exhaustive detail, including the packaging finish and the included owner’s manual. The original MS-20 was a bit like the Ford Model T, though, in that you could have any color you wanted, as long as it was black. Refreshingly, today’s Korg MS-20 FS is available in four vibrant colors!

Two distinct filter types
Another welcome added feature is Korg’s inclusion of both early- and late-model MS-20s. You can choose between these two coveted filter types to harness their distinctive sonic characteristics. Like the original, the MS-20 FS rocks two VCOs, two VCAs, two EGs, and one LFO; giving you ample firepower to go toe-to-toe onstage with your aggressive lead guitarist.

Patchbay for creative sound design
The MS-20 FS is semi-modular, meaning it has normalled pathways that give you immediate sonic gratification — no patching required. But in true modular fashion, it also has patch points; so when you’re in the mood to roll up your sleeves and throw some patches, you can dive into creative sound design. Inserting a patch cord (ten are included) into the jack associated with any hardwired control interrupts that internal connection, letting you create an entirely new signal path to suit your needs. As a programming aid, the MS-20 FS’s panel graphics clearly display the available signal routings, while providing insight into the instrument’s architecture.

External signal processor unlocks a world of creative options
For sound design in the studio, avail yourself of the ’20s External Signal Processor (ESP) to treat external signals. Plug your guitar or microphone directly into the Korg MS-20 FS and start tweaking. You won’t believe the fun and funky sounds you can come up with. Utilizing the MS-20 FS’s ESP section, you can use almost any sound source to control the pitch or volume of this incredibly flexible synth. It’s all possible with the MS-20 FS.
