Its light, silky texture absorbs quickly and goes to work immediately to refine pore size, reduce deep wrinkles, fine lines, brown spots—it can even help breakouts, too! Licorice, oat extract and other anti-irritants help to minimize the irritation some people may get from products containing high amounts of retinol. You’ll be amazed at how much younger and radiant your skin will look and feel. How to Use ItApply a pea-sized amount after cleansing and toning, and then follow with your Paula's Choice serum and/or nighttime moisturizer. When first using the Clinical 1% Retinol, start with no more than three evenings per week, then gradually increase frequency to every other night and, finally, every evening as tolerated (measure how your skin responds). Avoid the lips, direct contact with the eye, and corners of the eyes. You may apply up to the orbital bone of the eye area.

Excellent product!            This product is the first non-perscription retinoid I have ever used that can truely replace my RX Tretinoin .05% cream. The risk of irritation (less really IS more!) is more than covered in the directions for use. I have whole heartedly recommeded Clinical 1% retinol (and DAILY USE of effective spf30 sunblock, of course!) to all of my friends & family (well, only the ones concerned with anti-aging and skin health/ appearance! good product but it won't last long            I love Paula's Choice Retinol 1 % with combination of BHA 2% I use them both every night within 1 week my skin peel a little and after a couple of days it get better and my pimple marks start to disappear as well as my tiny breakout start to dry fast, I can see my pores is shrinking and my face is soft to touch. My only suggestion to the product Retinol 1% please make it at least 2.6 or 3 ounces because it won't last that long and the price is not reasonable but over all I love it." —Maggie
This is some GOOD stuff!            I had been using PTR retinol for some time now so I figured that this being a lower dosage of retinol would be fine. Well lets just say that I'm not entirely sure PTR is giving an accurate percentage of retinol on the label. This new PC is so much stronger! Yes I had sensitive skin, redness, and peeling after a few days so I naturally cut back until I got used to it. My skin purged a little which led to some breakouts but now everything is fine. Highly Recommend - Thanks again PC            I think I now have tried almost every PC product for dry skin/enlarged pores - this new retinol formulation is absolutely INCREDIBLE. I use this on the crow's feet, forehead and 11's (between the eyes) and saw the transformation (lines softened significantly more) within days. I loved the "old retinol", but this will be my "go to" forever more. It's potent for sure - follow the "How to Use" tab for excellent advice (as always). Thanks again PC. Awesome!            Just when I was wondering if Paula would ever offer a stronger retinol, she did. I thought I was dreaming when I saw it on the website. I'm using this for approximately three weeks, and it's everything I've wanted in a retinol product. I peeled using it every other night the first week, but can use it every night now. Since I got a new Resist Retinol Serum just before ordering this, I sometimes alternate the two so I'm always getting a dose of retinol. I love it!—Cheri
LOVE IT!!!            I ordered a trial size of this product to try before committing to full size. Was concerned about sensitivity. I am happy to report after a few uses can see positive results. My skin is smoother and softer. I have combination skin with oily t-zone . Tried the Resist Retinol Serum but was not happy with the consistency. It didn't seem to absorb well. This is a cream and was absorbed quickly. Will definitely be purchasing the full size.—Jeanette B
Excellent            I decided to transition away from retin-a after a decade or so of regular use for a variety of reasons, and this product seems to be giving me the same results or at least maintaining it. Everyone needs this            Im glad Paula has created a more potent product for people like me who find normal treatments and exfoliants too weak. In the few times I've used this its been lovely. I already see an improvement in the very stubborn dark spots around my eyes and the acne and scarring on my cheeks. My skin looks more even and pores are steadily disappearing. Beautiful Product            I have used this only two days - I will review again after a month. This product is beautiful, just a pleasure to apply, the texture is very soft and easy - no odors as well. I can apply this everywhere, especially around my eyes and do not have any reaction.
